What is The Fab Lab?
Established in 2010, the Fab Lab With Crazy Aunt Lindsey is one of YouTube's longest running, most beloved kids’ science and reading web shows. It takes everyday science concepts and turns them into fabulous, informative DIY projects that kids can do at home with their families. All projects are appropriate for kids from kindergarten to grade 5, done with inexpensive, easy-to-acquire supplies, and centered on being environmentally friendly. While fun to watch, the whole point of the show is to encourage real-time learning by creation, participation, and sharing as every Fab Lab science project doubles as a snack, gift, game, or home decor.

Why is The Fab Lab so important?
Science is FABULOUS and has brought us all a very long way. Many kinds of people have contributed to its advancement throughout history but for a very long time, the "faces" of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) seem to have been dominated by a very specific looking type of person and taught in the same way – often relegated to a laboratory or classroom.
Science and STEM is for everyone... and can be done everywhere! But persisting statistics tell us very clearly that entire chunks of people still don't feel welcome in STEM fields, let alone believe that they can be successful in them.
